Support and Improve Libraries

Libraries are a lifeline for our communities, connecting citizens to programs, resources, and services vital to their needs. Eunice worked as a library associate for many years and understands pressures put on libraries by politicians. Eunice's position is that librarians and not politicians should be making selections for books in the libraries. And parents, not politicians should make decisions about what books their parents should read when they visit the library. Funding to support schools and libraries is critical to improving overall student success and encouraging life-long learning. Parents should have access to many materials for their children and can decide which books their children should take home.

Eunice will advocate for programs that foster cooperation between libraries and education professionals including library programs that:

  • Improve community health and well-being

  • Increase literacy and educational outcomes

  • Build social capital and community engagement

  • Support economic and workforce development

  • Encourage lifelong learning in SC by providing unrestricted library access

  • Provide strong programs that support and encourage student achievement

  • Increase funding

  • Promote federal and state policies towards library equity (poorer areas need support)

  • Provide basic necessities such as Wi-Fi access, computers, printers, and community meeting rooms

  • Lower Today's High Prices

Eunice is in this to serve working families, small businesses, our senior citizens, young adults, and our schoolchildren.
